Air
Air transport is primarily used for passengers and for moving high value and highly perishable goods to market. While there are some freight only aircrafts, most freight is carried in passenger aircraft.
The sector represents only approximately 0.2% of Australia’s international freight task, but is responsible for around 14.3% of its value. Air freight provides the means to transport anything from pharmaceuticals to foodstuffs and extremely lucrative products such as live seafood to international markets throughout the world.
